Meet Dr. Helena Cheng

Dr. Helena Cheng offers comprehensive eye care which includes examination of eye health, diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases, glasses prescription and contact lens fitting. With many years of experience, Dr. Cheng has had the pleasure of helping hundreds of patients with their vision problems. 

Dr. Cheng can recommend various lenses for patients’ optical needs such as progressives, occupational computer glasses, and prism glasses. With so many contact lenses on the market, she can tailor the correct modality for each patient, whether it’s One-Day contact lenses, toric (astigmatism) contacts, bifocal contacts or rigid gas-permeable contacts. Dr. Cheng also fits patients with keratoconus or irregular astigmatism as well as patients with high prescriptions with custom-fit contact lenses. She is experienced in screening, diagnosis and post surgical management of cataract and refractive surgeries.

Growing up in San Francisco, Dr. Cheng is fluent in Cantonese and proud to be able to practice here. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree. She then attended UC Berkeley’s School of Optometry and graduated with Beta Sigma Kappa honors. During her optometry program, Dr. Cheng received extensive ocular disease training through VA hospitals and externship at Beijing Medical University.

In her spare time, Dr. Cheng enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and two sons.
