COVID-19 Safety Protocol
At San Francisco Eye Institute, your health and safety is always our top priority.
While we have updated our policies in accordance with the most recent guidelines released by both the State of California and the City of San Francisco, we continue to take measures to protect our staff and our patients from COVID-19 and other communicable health threats.
On February 28, 2023, the City and County of San Francisco stated that COVID-19 was no longer a Declared Local Health Emergency. Since then, the approach to the virus has shifted from an emergency response to the establishment of a sustainable system designed to safeguard public health over the long term.
Masking requirements have been lifted for patients and visitors, though we will continue to offer masks to patients who wish to wear them. Personnel who work in healthcare facilities are still required to mask at all times they are in the workplace in San Francisco.1
Keeping You Safe
We are committed to providing you with a personalized and positive experience, and will continue to take extra steps to ensure the health of our entire community. A comprehensive health and safety plan remains in place at our office, including:
- Extra cleaning, including deep sanitation, are performed throughout the day as well as cleansing and disinfection of testing areas and instruments after every use.
- All clipboards, pens, and other check-in materials are thoroughly disinfected prior to being given to any patients or staff.
- Touchless hand sanitizer stations are available in all waiting rooms and throughout the building.
- Complementary masks are available for all patients and visitors.
Safety Guidelines for Patients
We have taken measures to ensure that San Francisco Eye Institute continues to be a safe and healthy place, but patients and visitors also hold a responsibility in this regard. We ask that you use our touchless hand sanitizing station when you enter our facility. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or another virus, if you have tested positive for COVID-19, or if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and reschedule your appointment with us for a later date.
